According to research from Milestone Systems, 80% of British citizens want their local authority to take more action to fight climate change, but only 47% are aware that increased use of data and technology can help in delivering improvements that can reduce our carbon footprints, being the younger generation´s awareness much higher.
With lockdowns now lifting, congestion on the roads is returning to cities, and considering this is a serious problem specially in terms of pollution, it does make sense to think that Smart cities and connected vehicles can drive efficiencies in areas like traffic management to improve flow, reduce journey times, increase safety and, mainly, reduce CO2 emissions.
